The kids submitted some of their school artwork and Katie's machine-pieced, hand-quilted (for folks who know what that means) quilt to our county fair and the state fair. There are the results.
This Neighborly Joint (Ad)Venture has been, um, "eventful." Getting it together was the easy part. First, the muskrats ate the anchor ropes, then a storm blew it to another county, then it flipped in another storm, the fill valve leaked -- well it was exciting. We finally figured it out (we think) just in time to deflate it for the year. It was fun, I guess.
A love bird, who came to us via our wonderful Piano teacher, Reid Smith. When he came, we (mostly Kim) hand-fed him. He is a friendly little guy, and (as you can see) the kids adore him
Mix a little bit of this, a little bit of that. What do you get? A mess (and what's more fun than that?)
We have wonderful neighbors - one makes a huge skating rink out on the lake, the other made a luge run (well, sleds) down the hill to the lake. Great fun, great neighbors. The city snow plow makes a big pile by the house - a natural fort for the neighborhood kids.
